Porter County Community Foundation Awards First Round of 2010 Community Grants

The Porter County Community Foundation recently announced the first round of recipients of 2010 Porter County Community Foundation grants. The Foundation awarded more than $88,000 in Community Grants to 12 local nonprofit organizations to help fund programs and equipment. porter-county-community-foundation

We are proud to help support the work of our nonprofits and thank them for the difference they are making throughout Porter County,” said Barbara Young, Porter County Community Foundation President. “We want to also thank our donors for their generosity and investment in our community,” Young noted. “Because of their gifts, we can help Porter County nonprofits carry out their missions.”

Since 1996, the Foundation has sought to enhance the quality of life in Porter County by providing funds through an open grant process for humanitarian, cultural, educational and environmental purposes.

The first round of 2010 Community Grant recipients are First Contact, Frontline Foundations, Habitat for Humanity of Porter County, HealthLinc, Hebron Volunteer Fire Department, Moraine House, New Creation Business Advocates, Northwest Indiana Symphony, Pines Village Retirement Communities, Porter-Starke Services, Rebuilding Together Portage and South Shore Arts.
