Porter County Community Foundation Receives Certification of Standards Compliance

porter-county-community-foundationThe Porter County Community Foundation was recently certified as being in compliance with the Ethical and Operational Standards for Indiana Community Foundations. In addition, because of a reciprocal agreement with the Community Foundation National Standards Board (CFNSB), the Foundation is also considered to be in compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations.

Since the Foundation’s inception in Porter County 15 years ago, our board and staff have always been committed to the best approach to governance and thus, been diligent about ensuring that our operations and programs are aligned with state and national standards,” said Mark Maassel, chair of the Porter County Community Foundation Board. The standards encompass five major areas of nonprofit Community Foundation activity: management, governance, resource development, grantmaking, and communications and public relations. “We are proud to be recognized for our work and commitment to excellence,” remarked Maassel.
