Porter County Parks Cuts Ribbon on New Trails

Brickna-Ribbon-Cutting-Collage-2015A crowd gathered on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, to celebrate the opening of over 1 miles of trails that have recently been installed at Brincka Cross Gardens County Park. The ribbon cutting hosted by Porter County Parks and the Duneland Chamber of Commerce served as a celebration of what these trails bring to Porter County in terms of new and growing tourism and economic development opportunities, as well as increasing opportunities for health and wellness in the region.

The trails, which traverse the beautiful gardens of Brincka Cross, give visitors to the park an accessible way to explore and witness the hundreds of unique plant species that call the garden homes. In addition to being used by visitors of the park on a daily basis, the trails will add an opportunity for increased community programming and rentals at the property.

These trails are one of many recent developments through the Porter County Parks Department as they work to grow their footprint and create facilities that better serve the people of Porter County and encourage healthy and active lifestyles.
