Porter County Sheriff’s Department Wins Battle of the Badges Tourney

PC-Sheriff-Battle-of-BadgesPorter County Sheriff’s Department fought off seven other teams to claim the Championship title of the 5th Annual Battle of the Badges Tournament. Teams from local police and fire departments played in a bracketed basketball tournament hosted by Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-South Haven Club on May 18th and May 19th.

Participating teams were from: South Haven Fire Department, Chesterton Police Department, Hebron Police Departments, Porter County Sheriff’s Department, Portage Police Department, Indiana State Police, Valparaiso Fire Department and Team BGCPOCO. Porter County Sheriff’s Department defeated the Indiana State Police 74-60 in the title game. Words of remembrance and a moment of silence were offered for fallen Porter County Sheriff Officer Phillip Pratt before each game.

Proceeds from the tournament benefitted the activities and programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-South Haven Club.
