All 14 members from Langer & Langer helped to staff the booth, promoting local charities and asking Popcorn Festival attendees to vote for their favorite local charity who would receive the donation. Among the other charities receiving votes were Opportunity Enterprises, the Valparaiso YMCA, Horton VNA Hospice Center, the Caring Place, Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County, Valpo Goes Red for the American Heart Association, the Hilltop House, and Taltree Arboretum & Gardens.

"We had almost 900 people voting who had a really hard time choosing because all of the charities are worthy," said Steven Langer, noting that Langer & Langer will make an additional donation to all of the participating charities and they plan to hold the event again next year.

"We wanted to do this project to have our community come together, select the charity and make a difference," he said.

Michael Langer said he was pleased with the large turnout to support a common good.

"We would like to express our gratitude to the community and these individuals who braved the weather this past Saturday to vote their support for a local organization. We at Langer & Langer are honored to be part of such a mutual effort to help a wonderful local charity empower people to achieve and succeed," he said.
