Start! Heart Walk, the premier fundraising event for the American Heart Association, will be in Chesterton on Saturday, Sept. 25, 9:00 am at Coffee Creek. You can get involved by walking or by sponsoring a walker. 
To sponsor a walker, visit the Valpo Goes Red page on facebook.com and click on the “donations” to sponsor Christine Maassell, a local walker. Participants can get a sponsorship form and further information online at startheartwalk.org or by calling Jeanne Sommer at Century 21 Alliance Group, 219-462-2090.
Funds from this event help fund research to help prevent and treat heart patients – including pediatric heart and stroke research, and providing information to help save lives. Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of all Americans. In fact, someone dies from Cardiovascular disease every 38 seconds!
