Porter Health System Hosts ‘An Afternoon With DaVinci’

Porter health system recently hosted “An Afternoon with daVinci” – a two-part event featuring an appreciation program for recent Porter daVinci robotic surgery patients, then a community educational open house highlighting the dramatic and remarkable benefits of the daVinci robotic platform.

Porter health system introduced the daVinci robotic surgery program in July of 2008 and it has become one of the fastest growing programs in Indiana. In less than a year, Porter now has seven physicians who have undergone detailed, advanced level training, and more than 100 robotic urological and gynecological procedures have been performed at the hospital.

As a special attraction the entire afternoon the actual daVinci robotic system platform was available for people to “test-drive” and actually experience the system which allows physicians to perform complex and delicate procedures with unmatched precision and visualization.

The “An Afternoon with daVinci” Appreciation and Community Special Event also featured:

Appreciation for recent Porter daVinci patients

  • A welcome by Jonathan Nalli, CEO, Porter health system.
  • A brief acknowledgement and thank you to former patients by several of Porter’s daVinci robotic-trained physicians.
  • An open forum for former patients to meet and greet each other with the opportunity to share their personal stories and the real benefits they experienced with robotic surgery.

Community Educational Open House

  • An informal open house “meet and mingle” setting where community members will have the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of the daVinci robotic surgery system.
  • An opportunity to  test-drive the on-site daVinci robotic system firsthand and talk to former robotic surgery patients who have chosen the daVinci minimally invasive approach to previously traditional open surgeries and laparoscopic procedures.
