Porter Health System Names Managers of the Year

Talia-LisaPorter Health System recently named Lisa Stemler, RN, Director of the 4-East Med-Surg Unit and Transport Department, as Porter’s Clinical Manager-of-the-Year, and Talia Healy, BS, RHIA, Director of Patient Access, as Porter’s Non-Clinical Manager-of-the-Year.

Lisa and Talia are first-class leaders and exemplify our organization’s core values and caring culture,” stated Jonathan Nalli, CEO, Porter Health System. “Both lead by example, appreciate and motivate their co-workers and have a clear vision to consistently attain their departmental goals and objectives.”

In addition to her role as director, Stemler is also involved in Porter’s Shared Governance Program, Nursing Leadership Team and Recognition Service Team. According to individuals who work with Stemler, she deserves this honor due to her energetic leadership style, and by being the driving force for positive changes for her unit, staff, patients and Porter’s nursing division. In response to her award, Stemler gives credit to her team. “I’m nothing without my wonderful team. I feel this honor reflects all of us,” she shared.

As Director of Patient Access, Healy oversees central scheduling, pre-admissions, insurance verification, pre-registration and patient registration in nine locations as well as financial counselors and cashiers. According to her co-workers, Healy is always focused on the patient experience at Porter, as well as striving for ways to improve it. Regarding her recent honor, Healy adds, “This was a total surprise and the biggest thrill of my life professionally. In Patient Access, we’re the first people anyone encounters when they come to Porter. Our goal is to make it easy and friendly to come to Porter, and very importantly, to come back to Porter.”
