Porter Regional Hospital Presents Community Wellness Events for July 2014

Porter-New-Hospital-Coming-SoonPorter Regional Hospital will present the following community wellness programs in July:

Just a Mole or Melanoma?
Do you have a mole that you’ve been meaning to get checked? Can you spot the differences between a mole and potentially malignant melanoma? Would you be able to tell which require a biopsy? Although most moles are harmless, it’s always best to get them looked at by a professional. Join Plastic Surgeon Dr. Nicholas Retson and General Surgeon Dr. Adam Conn to learn the ABCDE’s of melanoma. The event will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 in the Community Room at Porter Regional Hospital, 85 East US Highway 6 in Valparaiso.

Got GERD?
Join General Surgeons Drs. Jac Cooper and Adam Conn as well as Gastroenterologist Dr. Amit Kalra to learn more about an effective, long-term solution for people suffering from chronic acid reflux, or GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). The event will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 31 at the Sand Creek Country Club, 1001 Sand Creek Drive in Chesterton.

Porter Regional Hospital’s community wellness programs are free and refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required. To register, call 1-800-541-1861.
