Porter Regional Hospital’s Outpatient Infusion Therapy Center Celebrates First Anniversary

Outpatient-Infusion-Therapy-centerOutpatient Infusion Therapy Services of Porter Regional Hospital’s Cancer Care Center recently celebrated its one year anniversary. The Cancer Care Center is located in the hospital’s adjacent Medical Plaza.

At the center we provide a host of intravenous medications and treatments on an outpatient basis for infusion patients,” explained Oncology Service Line Executive Teresa Langley. Some of the conditions treated in addition to cancer include rheumatoid arthritis, various immune deficiencies, blood disorders and diseases requiring intravenous antibiotics.

It’s been a very rewarding first year,” states Langley. “Since our opening, we have been attracting regional referrals due to our nursing expertise -- all of our nurses in Outpatient Infusion Therapy are oncology certified nurses (OCN). Plus, our proximity to the hospital enables us to provide the quality care and support needed for high acuity patients.
