Porter Township School Corporation Weekly Update: January 13, 2014

Stacey-SchmidtWelcome to the new home of the Porter Township Schools Weekly Updates! I will continue to publish the same type of content each week, but will use a format that is easier for me to distribute to PTSC families and also our community. I hope you will follow this blog (click here to do so) so that you will receive notice of updates so you don't have to try to remember to visit each Monday. While the look of this update may evolve over time, I hope to continue to include content that is useful to you!

PTSC Standouts:

  • Please congratulate Mr. Bob Lichtenberger on being named the Principal at the Boone Grove Complex (Boone Grove Elementary School and Boone Grove Middle School). This announcement was made following the acceptance of Mr. Schlottman's resignation during the December board meeting. Mr. Lichtenberger began this new role on January 6, 2014 and is now hard at work interviewing candidates for the newly created Boone Grove Complex Assistant Principal position.
  • PLE second grader Haley VanDerMolen entered an essay contest sponsored by Dave Long’s State Farm Insurance on how she helped those less fortunate this Christmas Season. She won a new bike for her generosity. We are proud of Haley!
  • The Boone Grove Girls Bowling Team took 3rd place in the small school division at the NWI 2014 Holiday Classic Tournament on January 1st. The Lady wolves had their highest single game series to date with a pin total of 705. Meaghan Spalla led the way with a 526 series, including a high game of 212. Christina Cheek added a 424 series, Sidney Davies add a 163 game, Catherine Mikos, tallied a 146 game, and Ellie Ioannides added a 110 game. Congratulations to all the girls for an outstanding effort!
