Portage raced out to an early 4-0 lead and held off a late rally to defeat La Porte. Kevin Jones had a triple for the Indians.

Cameron Watt (3-for-4) and Jake Benefiel (2-for-3) each had multiple hits for the Slicers.

Marquette 16, Calumet 5 (Baseball)

Host Marquette celebrated the careers of seniors Ian Smith, Cole Mellen, Tommy Andeson, Daniel Miller, Isaiah Papineau, William Connelly and Billy Gotsch prior to the win.

Calumet 24, Marquette 19 (Softball)

Defensive errors proved to be the downfall for the Blazers, who fell in the high-scoring affair.

Valparaiso 10, Merrillville 3 (Baseball)

Visiting Valparaiso picked up the win in the Duneland Athletic Conference on Tuesday. Andrew Page crossed the plate in the first, second and third innings for the Vikings.

Merrillville had runs from Vejer Cox, Jon Streck and Aaron Clarkson.

Portage 13, Michigan City 1 (Softball)

Dalton Minor went 3-for-3 and had a double and an RBI to help host Portage pick up the DAC win on Tuesday. Sydney Coundiff and Haley Perez each hit home runs for the Lady Indians, who improved to 22-6, 11-3 on the year.

Portage 17, Michigan City 7 (JV Softball)

Ashley Music went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles to lead Portage to the win.

Lake Central 159, Valparaiso 160, Chesterton 160 (Boys Golf)

Lake Central had a 37 score from Matt Meneghetti to lead them past their conference rivals in a tight one Tuesday at Forest Park.

Chesterton had 39s from John Kelley and Eric Richardson and Valparaiso had 39s from Thomas Walsh and Eric Yiankes.
