Crown Point won the 12-team tournament Saturday in Michigan City. Other area teams competing were Lowell (4th), Michigan City (5th), Morgan Township (7th) and Marquette (12th).

Local athletes on the all-tournament team were Crown Point’s Alyssa Kvarta, Jessica Yukich and Jordyn Banske; Lowell’s Jordin Page, Hunter Jusevitch and Riley Schilling; Marquette’s Zoey Ganz; and Brooke Westphal of Michigan City.

Eight teams competed in the junior varsity tournament the same day. Morgan Township was third, Washington Township seventh and Marquette eighth.

South Bend St. Joseph Invite (Girls Soccer)

Valparaiso won one of three games played Friday and Saturday at South Bend St. Joseph.

On Friday, the Vikings dropped a 2-0 decision to Hamilton Southeastern despite 23 saves from Madison Ochs. The next morning, Grace Withrow scored a goal on a Becca Riley assist, but Valpo lost 2-1 to McCutcheon. Ochs and Cami Holford each saved five shots.

The Vikings got their lone win Saturday afternoon, 3-0 over Northwood. Kelly Landry scored all three goals. Withrow added an assist and Holford a save,

Covenant Christian 3, Marquette 2 (Girls Soccer)

Michaela Jennings and Sydney Snyder scored for Marquette, who had 18 shots in their loss on Saturday. Stacey Barron had an assist. The Blazers visit Boone Grove Monday.

Griffith 3, Portage 2 (Boys Tennis)

Portage won both doubles matches. Kody McGuire and Jesse Bustos teamed for a 6-4, 6-4 win for the Indians.

Valparaiso 5, Highland 0 (Boys Tennis)

Host Valparaiso received a shutout win from Derek Wappel (6-0, 6-0) at No. 1 singles. Juan Gil and Caleb Owens teamed for a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles for the Vikings.

Valpo won the JV match, 8-3.

Covenant Christian 3, Marquette 2 (Boys Soccer)

John Roder had 13 saves for Marquette, who lost in overtime on Saturday.
