Preparing a Classroom

As the school year is poised to launch excitedly tommorow, I have spent the last two days helping my mentor teacher get the classroom ready. Arranging desks, putting up posters, stamping books, going through class rosters, preparing curriculum, staff meetings, and more.

The last two days have been very exhausting yet rewarding. I am very happy I have been given the opportunity to student teach in the fall to see first hand how it is to meet a new class at the beginning of the year and all the hard work it takes to set up the classroom before the children come in for the very first time.

On a completely seperate note (my mind being one that is very eclectic), I watched a new music video the other day where an actress sang a song. In said song, her voice had been digitalized to give it a techno sound. This made me wonder at how any of us now a days could become an overnight sensation by merely applying the right sound filter to our voice.  I gave this particular actress a break since I had seen her in a musical previously.

Tommorrow is first day of school and I look forward to it. I fear more and more people adding sound filters to their voice and becoming stars. One must choose their battles.
