Public Compost Sites Close for July 4th

recycleThe Valparaiso compost site, 2150 W. Lincolnway, and the Boone Grove compost site, 546 South 400 West, will be closed to the public Monday, July 4, for Independence Day.

The Valparaiso site will reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 5. The Boone Grove site will reopen at noon Wednesday, July 6.

Porter County residents can use the sites to drop off their yard waste, expired electronics and fluorescent light bulbs for recycling. Mulch is available at both sites while the supplies last. Finished compost is currently not available.
