Puppy, Dog Adoption Event in Valparaiso

Lakeshore-Paws-Adoption-EventLakeshore PAWS is hosting its next adoption event Friday, July 1, at the Harley Davidson in Valparaiso, with the goal of matching puppies and dogs from local shelters with loving owners.

Adorable puppies and dogs of assorted breeds will be available for adoption from 4 to 9 p.m. at Harley Davidson in Valparaiso (1151 Morthland Dr.). Visit www.facebook.com/LakeshorePaws to view photos and find information on all of the dogs available for adoption.

One more event is planned at the Harley Davidson in Valparaiso on Friday, July 22 from 4 to 9 p.m.

All dogs available for adoption will be spayed or neutered, updated on vaccinations—including rabies—and microchipped. In addition, each dog will be de-wormed and given treatments to prevent fleas and ticks.

To ensure that each pet is ready to join a new family, an animal behaviorist will work with the dog beforehand, and dogs also will be socialized with other dogs. The day of the event, adoption counselors will make sure that pets are placed in the perfect home for the pet and the new owner.

Recently co-founded by local business women and animal lovers, Jeanne Sommer and Kim Langer, Lakeshore PAWS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and protecting dogs and cats. Many animals rescued by Lakeshore PAWS come from local shelters where the dogs are scheduled to be euthanized.
