Fewer than 5 percent of business colleges worldwide have achieved AACSB International accreditation.

Positioned among top business colleges worldwide “AACSB accreditation positions Purdue University Calumet with the other top business colleges across the world,” Dean of the Purdue Calumet College of Business Jane Mutchler said.

Purdue Calumet Chancellor Thomas L. Keon added, “It is appropriate for Purdue Calumet to be part of this prestigious association of highly respected, accredited business colleges. Having been afforded this opportunity, we have another outstanding reason to be excited about the path on which our campus is advancing.”

AACSB accreditation is acclaimed internationally as the longest standing, most recognized form of specialized/professional accreditation an institution and its business programs can earn.

Undergraduate and graduate levels According to AACSB International Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation officer Robert D. Reid, “AACSB accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees.

The Purdue Calumet accreditation is applicable at both undergraduate and master’s degree levels.

“During the peer-review process,” Reid said, “Purdue Calumet demonstrated alignment with 15 global accreditation standards, as well as how to achieve success within each of the three pillars on which AACSB accreditation rests—engagement, innovation and impact.”

Rigorous accreditation process The rigorous accreditation process prompted Purdue Calumet’s College of Business to appropriately address a distinctive set of quality standards, Mutchler indicated.

“We’ll be reviewed every five years,” she said.

Reid added, “Through accreditation, Purdue Calumet has not only met specific standards of excellence, but has also made a commitment to ongoing improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver high quality education to its students.”
