Purdue Calumet Hosts Kids Day During Men’s, Women’s Hoops Doubleheader Vs. Holy Cross December 13

PUC-PeregrinsWhile the Purdue University Calumet men’s and women’s basketball teams will take on Holy Cross College (Ind.) in an important league doubleheader, the Peregrines athletic department invites all children to take part in the fun in its annual Kids Day, set for Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Fitness and Recreation Center.

All kids ages 0-18 will be admitted FREE to the event – presented by Purdue Calumet Corporate Champion Nipsco -- featuring bouncy houses, face painting, coloring stations, free-t-shirts and mini basketballs, Santa Claus, free poster autograph sessions by the home teams, and other child-friendly events before, during and after the two games.

The women’s game will kick off the day beginning at 1 p.m., as the No. 12 Peregrines (9-2, 4-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) face the Saints (2-9, 0-2) in the opener, followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m., as the Peregrines (4-6, 1-1) look to pick up an important league win over Holy Cross (6-6, 1-2).

Kids Day will follow another capstone to an important event, as the Building Community Through the Arts (BCTA) Committees’ “Hoosier Hoop Dreams” week concludes with a t-shirt giveaway, free food, a painted basketball auction from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also in the FNRC.

Admission to the BCTA event is free for all attendees, while admission to the women’s and men’s basketball games is $6 for adults.
