· Annual Welcome Home Vietnam veterans; · Week long displays of Vietnam memorabilia; and · Movie presentation about the Vietnam era

Through April 1 The observance continues through next April 1.

“It is important to acknowledge the Vietnam veterans due to their service during the time of an unpopular war and the sacrifices they have made for new veterans to receive much needed and deserved medical and educational assistance,” Purdue Calumet From Boots to Books Assistant Director Akili Shakur said. “Because many never received a hero’s welcome home, this nation should never forget that they are heroes none the less.”

Honor and thank veterans The 13-year Vietnam War observance, which began in 2012, continues through Nov. 11, 2025. Commemoration activities are intended to honor and thank Vietnam veterans and their families.

Purdue Calumet’s “From Boots to Books:...” program provides some 165 certified students who are military veterans, current military personnel or military family members with educational services designed to enable completion of their educational goals.
