Purdue Calumet’s Patrice McBee Nabs Second CCAC Player of the Week Honor

PUC-PeregrinsAfter a monster performance last week that saw her average 19.5 points and 19.5 rebounds in two big wins, Purdue University Calumet women's basketball junior Patrice McBee snagged her second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

McBee, a 6-foot-2 center from Monterey, Ind. (Culver Community) poured in 20 points and a career-high 24 rebounds in Saturday's 106-96 win at Olivet Nazarene, allowing the No. 8 Peregrines (18-4, 10-2 CCAC) -- who jumped three spots from No. 11 in this week's NAIA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll -- to stay firmly in first place in the CCAC South Division. The nation's leader in field goal percentage at 67.7 percent, McBee made 10 of 17 shots from the field.

The 24 rebounds is believed to be program record for rebounds in a game, topping an earlier season total of 20 by teammate Jada Buggs.

In the Peregrines' 84-70 win at Judson Jan. 28, McBee netted 19 points and 15 rebounds on 6 of 9 shooting from the field.

In total, McBee has 11 double-doubles this season and 21 for her career.

McBee earned the first CCAC Player of the Week honor of her career in Week 2, when she averaged 19.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in two early season wins for the Peregrines.
