Purdue Calumet Baseball/Softball Season Ticket Packages On Sale Now
Season tickets are now on sale for the 2016 Purdue University Calumet baseball and softball seasons at Dowling Park.
The Peregrine baseball team kicks off its home slate at Albert's Diamond Jeweler's Field Saturday, March 19, with a noon doubleheader against Trinity Christian, while Purdue Calumet softball begins home play at Fifth Third Bank Field on Sunday, March 20, with a 1 p.m. twin bill against Viterbo.
Season ticket packages start at two adult passes to all 25 contests for $40. General admission to all home Purdue Calumet softball and baseball games is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-17. Children 3 and under are free. Purdue Calumet and Purdue North Central students with valid ID are also free, cash only please.
DOWLING PARK INFORMATION
Dowling Park, a $10 million complex developed in a partnership with the City of Hammond, was completed in Fall 2015. The park features artificial surface baseball, softball, and soccer fields along with a six-court tennis complex. The park's cornerstone building, main parking lot, walking path, and interior center walkway was completed last fall. Concessions will be available at all home games, provided by the City of Hammond, cash only please.

Purdue Calumet's Cassidy Deno a NAIA Third-Team All-American
Purdue University Calumet junior Cassidy Deno was named a 2015-16 NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Third Team All-American, as announced by the organization Thursday.
Deno (Otterbein, Ind./Benton Central) became the fourth player under Purdue Calumet ninth-year Head Coach Tom Megyesi to earn NAIA All-American honors, joining Jada Buggs (2015), Brooklyn Short (2014) and Alex Starr (2013), who were all selected as honorable mentions.
The 6-1 junior guard averaged 19.2 points per game for the Peregrines, who captured their fifth-straight 20-win season by finishing the 2015-16 campaign with a 22-9 overall record and third trip to the NAIA national tournament in four seasons. Deno added 6.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 40.0 percent from the 3-point line and 42.2 percent from the field. She was near-perfect at the free-throw line, recording an 88.4 percent clip with 152 makes.
Deno earned First-Team all-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors for the first time in her career this season, adding to her list of 2015-16 awards that include NAIA Scholar-Athlete, CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team, and two CCAC Player of the Week honors. She also joined the 1,000-point club back in November, as Deno poured in 596 points in 2015-16 and enters her senior season with a total of 1,559, which stands seventh all-time.
Olivet Nazarene senior Abbey Hengesbach was selected as the NAIA National Player of the Year and national champion Marian (Ind.) Head Coach Katie Gearlds was selected as the NAIA Coach of the Year.
Other CCAC selections included First Team honorees Kara Krolicki (St. Xavier), Abbey Hengesbach (Olivet Nazarene); Second Team selection Charnelle Reed (St. Francis, Ill.); Third Team selection Sydney Greiner (St. Ambrose); and Honorable Mention selections Emily Neitzel (Cardinal Stritch); Mikayla Leyden (St. Xavier); and Devan Griffin (St. Ambrose).
