Purdue Calumet Travels to Olivet Nazarene for CCAC Matchup Tonight

PUC-PeregrinsThe Purdue University Calumet women's soccer team will travel to Bourbonnais, lll., for a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup at Olivet Nazarene University tonight.

The Peregrines (3-5, 0-2 CCAC) will take on the Tigers (4-3-1, 2-0 CCAC) beginning at 7 p.m. (CT).

LAST TIME OUT: Purdue Calumet is looking to rebound from two league losses last week, 8-0 and 8-1 setbacks to Trinity Christian and nationally-ranked Trinity International (No. 22). Senior Rachel Shmagranoff (Munster, Ind./Munster) scored the lone goal for the Peregrines last week, netting a score just 30 seconds into the game versus the Trojans.

PEREGRINE LEADERS: Shmagranoff leads the Peregrines with seven goals and three assist for 17 points, which stands second in the conference. Kirsten Nirtaut (St. John, Ind./Hanover Central) also leads the league in assists (six), a mark which stands 11th in all of the NAIA. Junior keeper Erika Brinkman (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida/Owens C.C.) also ranks second in the CCAC in saves with 50 on the season.

SCOUTING ONU: The Tigers - currently receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll - are riding a three-match winning streak, including conference victories over Holy Cross and Judson. Liz Wahl leads ONU with four goals and two assists and Betsy Hetrick adds three goals on the year.

SERIES HISTORY: The then-No. 19 Tigers defeated Purdue Calumet in Bourbonnais 7-1 in 2013. ONU also topped the Peregrines in their inaugural season in 2012, 9-0.
