Purdue Glee Club To Perform In Valpo

Purdue Glee Club Tickets Make Great Christmas Gifts

The Kiwanis Club of Valparaiso is once again sponsoring the Purdue Varsity Glee Club in concert on Sunday afternoon, January 30, 2011, at 2:00 pm in the Valparaiso High School Auditorium.

Advanced sale tickets are available from Kiwanis members as well as from:

  • Purdue University North Central –Graduate Building, 600 Vale Park Road, Valparaiso
  • Valparaiso Festival and Events office, 162 W. Lincolnway
  • Valparaiso YMCA, 1201 Cumberland Crossing Dr., Valparaiso

Advanced sale tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. All tickets at the door are $15. Children under 5 are free. Tickets may be purchased for gifts. Profits from the concert will be used to benefit non-profit agencies and student scholarships in the Greater Valparaiso area. In the past, the Kiwanis Club of Valparaiso has supported a variety youth leadership activities, ReBuilding Together, Special Olympics, Valparaiso Family YMCA, and many other agencies and activities focused on children.

This dynamic musical troupe employs a versatile repertoire including gospel, vocal jazz, swing, contemporary hits, romantic ballads, classical choral selections, barbershop, folk melodies, patriotic standards, familiar opera choruses, country and novelty tunes, and utilizes small groups and outstanding soloists to further enhance each show.

William E. Griffel is the Director of Purdue Musical Organizations at Purdue University including the Purdue Varsity Glee Club. As a performer, William has sung with many of the world’s finest concert and operatic programs. He has performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Civic Opera of Chicago, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, Chatauqua Opera, Indianapolis Opera, Cathedral Singers, Oriana Singers, Blue Skies Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the Caroling Party.
