Race Helps Make Preschool a Reality for Low Income Families

Spring-Has-Sprung-5kOn April 12th Immanuel will be holding the "€œSpring has Sprung 5K Run and 1 Mile Kids Run"€ to benefit the Immanuel Preschool Scholarship Fund.

"Without a quality preschool experience, children may enter kindergarten at a significant disadvantage," said Preschool Director, Susie Hord. "€œImmanuel offers preschool tuition assistance for low income families. However, the need is greater than Immanuel alone can address. The race will allow the Valparaiso community to partner with Immanuel to help our youngest children attend preschool and enter kindergarten ready to succeed."

The race will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, 1700 Monticello Park Drive in Valparaiso. The 1 mile kids run will begin at 8:30 am followed by the 5K run at 9 am. The scenic fast, flat course will take runners through the streets of Valparaiso.

Computerized timing will be provided by T&H Timing. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female and top finishers in each age group. Shirts are guaranteed to all participants registered by April 5th.

Spring Has Sprung 5K Run is a qualifying race for the Extra Mile Championship Racing Series.
