Rainbow International of NWI Partners with Housing Opportunities for Food & Item Drive

Rainbow International of NWI has partnered together with Housing Opportunities for a local food drive taking place until the first week of March 2013. For every item donated, Rainbow International of NWI will take $1.00 off your services up to $10. This offer can be used with additional coupons. When Rainbow International of NWI is at your location performing services, they will pick up the donated item(s). Your contributions of canned goods, paper products, and cleaning supplies will help Housing Opportunities to assist children and families with everyday essentials.

“The clients can then focus their energy on improving their housing situation or work on personal goals, rather than worry about feeding their family," says Amanda Maynard, Resource Development Director for Housing Opportunities.

1 in 4 children go to sleep hungry at night. 7.8% of Porter County families live below the poverty level. The Housing Opportunities food pantry currently serves an average of 1,500 Porter County residents a month with food to nourish their families and other household items. 45% of individuals served through the pantry are children under 18. Food costs take a big bite out of the limited income of their clients. Even those who are eligible for food stamps have a hard time getting the essentials not covered by food stamps such as laundry detergent, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products.

Rainbow International of NWI offers water, fire, smoke, and mold restoration and carpet cleaning services throughout the Southeast side of Lake County and all of Porter and LaPorte Counties.
