Recycled Art Show Challenges Artists on Reuse

Calling all creatives! It’s time to plan your entries for the Re-Think Art Competition & Exhibition at the 2018 Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration.

Porter County Recycling & Waste Reduction is seeking entries for the fourth annual contest that challenges artists to submit works made from 100 percent recycled materials for both juried and popular awards. The deadline for the submission of entries is March 30 for committee review.

Categories include: young adult, adult and youth. Works will ultimately be displayed at the Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration on April 21 for a popular vote.

“Materials that can be used include anything reclaimed, reused, recovered, second-hand, salvaged, or anything un-new.” said Therese Haller, competition and exhibition committee chair.

Details are available on the district’s website, www.PorterCountyRecycling.org, or by calling 219-465-3815.
