Registration for the twelfth Valpo Triathlon is limited to 400 participants, plus teams. The deadline to register for this sprint distance triathlon is Tuesday, July 7. Interested athletes must be at least 15 years old by December 31, 2014. The Valpo Tri takes place at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Rogers-Lakewood Park.
The region’s most popular sprint triathlon, hosted by the Valparaiso Family YMCA and the Valparaiso Department of Parks and Recreation, consists of ¼ mile swimming, 12.4-mile biking and 3.2-mile running competitions. The fee per participant is $82 for a non- USA Triathlon member, $70 for a USA Triathlon member. Teams of 2 or 3 individuals may also participate for $130, plus $12 per non-USAT member.
