Registration Still Open for Children’s Theatre Classes

Popcorn-Float-2012Chicago Street Theatre fosters the artistic development of children and teens by providing an outlet to express themselves through active involvement in the performing arts. Our courses focus on the importance of creative expression and collaboration, while teaching the fundamentals of theatre through structured play. Classes not only enhance performance skills, but also develop concentration, self-esteem, discipline, and basic problem solving. We offer a variety of classes for ages 5-18. Each session ends with a Showcase Performance and a Certificate Ceremony

Acting and Theatre Classes begin this week with the Chicago Street Theatre Education Program but registrations will remain open until Saturday, February 15. Parents can enroll their students for the The Spring Session, which runs from February 10 through May 9, online at ChicagoStreet.org, through the Box Office at 219-464-1636 X1 or by contacting Education Director, Lisa Fomosa-Parmigiano at Extention 4.

Classes for students ages 5 through 18 are conducted at the theatre Monday through Saturday. This is the 19th year of programming for the theatre group whose student Alumni include: television and film actress- Carly Schroeder; singer/songwriter- Sarah Dooley; playwrights- Jamie Perry, Julia Weiss and Mark Blane; and Tony Nominated lighting designer- Aaron Porter.
