Registration Under Way for Spring Rain Barrel Workshops

recycleRegistration has begun for the Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County spring rain barrel workshops that aim to help residents learn more about the benefits of rain barrels, how to use them, and proper location and installation.

Five workshops are scheduled for 6 p.m. on the following dates at various locations: March 19, Woodland Park Blue Spruce Room, 2100 Willowcreek Road, Portage; March 20, 28 and 29, Sunset Hill Farm County Park Interpretive Center, 775 Meridian Road, Valparaiso; April 5, Hebron Community Center, 611 N. Main Street. Each workshop is limited to 35 attendees. Registration is available online at www.itmeanstheworld.org.

The $45 cost of the workshop includes a rain barrel with spigot and linking and overflow fitting. Additional rain barrels can be ordered at the time of registration. Advance payment is required for each workshop.
