Now that the holiday rush is over, guests at spa blu, the luxurious spa and salon at Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa, Michigan City, IN, are destressing with the latest face and body treatments.
“Our beauty journey starts with giving ourselves permission to relax,” says Peaches McCahill, spa blu general manager and president of The McCahill Group, Grand Rapids, Michigan-based health, fitness and beauty consulting practice. “Relaxation benefits us by alleviating the inflammation caused by stress. It’s all about positive energy.”
In addition to the refreshing and rejuvenating effects of an afternoon at the spa, McCahill reports that guests are impressed with some of the newest treatments available anywhere in the Midwest.
Recently featured in Organic Spa Magazine, KPS Essentials treatments, now available at spa blu, have delivered stellar results, starting with the first facial or body wrap. The blu KPS organic anti-aging facial at spa blu (50 minutes, $100) firms and volumizes the skin, bringing back a youthful glow. Another stand-out service is the blu slim wrap (50 minutes, $150), an organic detox wrap from the KPS skincare line that assists with cellulite reduction and is designed to reduce pounds and inches.
The unique line from KPS Essentials was founded in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Natalie Novak, an aesthetician and Ron Webb, a rocket scientist. The products feature all organic and food-grade ingredients and the company’s proprietary DermaNu performance-based technology. that has been clinically proven to improve skin hydration, volume, collagen growth and dramatically reduce hyper pigmentation and acne. “We discovered a way to get through the dermal layer in order to build tissue back up, generate collagen and stimulate stem cells, adding volume, hydration and firmness,” says Novak.
Another new treatment is the salted Himalayan body wrap (50 minutes, $130). A moisturizing oil rich in aloe and jojoba is applied and Himalayan salt is sprinkled on the body. Warm salt stones are then used to exfoliate the skin, and while the guest is relaxing, a 15-minute foot wrap is given with heated salt stones. The luxurious treatment is finished with a soothing lotion application. “Skin care experts are just discovering the many benefits of salt in skin treatments,” says McCahill. “Himalayan salt is packed with nutrients, and applying salt stones puts essential nutrients back into the body.”
