Darrin Selking, president of Landscape Illumination, applied a purple film to a floodlight at Central Park Plaza on April 30th. While Kim Rushmore, Relay For Life of Greater Valparaiso chair, decorated with purple ribbons to kick off the “Paint The Town Purple” campaign, which runs through May 18.
Mayor Jon Costas proclaimed May 1 as American Cancer Society Relay For Life Day to start the campaign, which invites all home and business owners to decorate with purple in celebration of cancer survivorship and to raise community awareness of the annual Relay For Life event on May 17-18 at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
