The residents and staff of Residences at Coffee Creek celebrated their One Year Anniversary on Thursday, joined by almost 200 guests. Featuring tours, expertly prepared food, cocktails, and music by Ivy Ford, the celebration commemorated a successful launch for the living community.

Residences at Coffee Creek is one of the newest senior living communities in the Region, offering a fitness center, salon, all-day gourmet restaurant dining, and scenic views of the Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve. The Coffee Creek team knew from the start that their location primed them for success, but their first year surpassed those expectations.

“It’s been extremely overwhelming in the best way,” said Natalie Reisen, Marketing Coordinator for Residences at Coffee Creek. “We had no idea we’d get this much support from the community. We feel totally embraced by Chesterton and the Duneland area and we’re so excited to be here.  We’re honored to be making an impact and providing a great home for our residents.”

Rondi Wightman, Social Services Coordinator for Residences at Coffee Creek, milled about the dining room at the party, checking in and chatting with the residents and their visiting friends and families. Throughout the year, she picked up on the favorite aspects of life at Coffee Creek for the residents.

“One of the things we hear over and over from the Residents is not only about how they love the beautiful building or our friendly staff, they really love being right on the Watershed,” Wightman said. “They love being able to just look out a window and see the water, or to take frequent trips to the Dunes. It’s a beautiful location.”

The anniversary celebrations also served as an open house, with staff providing guided tours and information about amenities. Some attendees were visiting for the first time, while others had friends or family already living in the community. For Jim Johnson, who regularly drops by to see a friend, the party cemented his desire to move to the community in the future.

“It’s open, there’s a lot of glass keeping it light and bright, and the staff is so friendly and exceptional,” he said. “I just really like the place. I’m an outdoorsy kind of person, and most of these types of places don’t have the outdoor view that you can find here.”

Tours are available at any time, and more information about Residence at Coffee Creek’s amenities and services is available at residencesseniorliving.com.

“Our emphasis is quality and communication. I do my best every day to empower my staff to be leaders and treat our residents like my own family. This celebration isn’t just another party, but it’s a way for us to thank the community for believing in us and to thank our residents and families for trusting us.’ Said Kaitlynn Redmon, Executive Director at Residences at Coffee Creek, “It’s an honor to work here and serve the people we do.”
