Rittenhouse Expresses Thanks To Volunteers

Due to the growing number of organizations and community outreach programs in Valparaiso, Rittenhouse Senior Living hosted a Volunteer Brunch in honor of all those whose efforts have done so much for our citizens.

In attendance were those from VNA, Kiwanis Noon Club, Rotary in Valparaiso, Porter Hospital, Valpo and Duneland Chambers, Life Care Center, RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), Porter County Aging and Community Services, Banta Center and Rittenhouse.

Judy Cramer, marketing director for Rittenhouse communicated, "I just want to thank you all for volunteering and for all you do in our community", before giving gifts and certificates to all the attendees.
Some organizations, like Porter Hospital required more seasoned volunteers in order to properly care for patients, yet they still had a range of 16 to 93 years old, while the Banta Center expressed their broader need, "We've got so many things we need people to do. There are opportunities for everyone."

Members from Life Care Center and Rittenhouse agreed, "We are always open to a variety of volunteers here. You don't have to be an expert at anything, and it can be as simple as coming and playing a game with them. There are plenty of opportunities, and the residents just love to have them come in."

So get involved and check out one of these organizations to give back to the community in your own way!!
