Rittenhouse Senior Living of Valparaiso Hosts First Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday morning, Rittenhouse Senior Living of Valparaiso held their first ever Easter Egg Hunt. Hidden throughout the yard were 1,500 eggs for kids to try and find. The free egg hunt attracted children of all ages to have a fun day with their families and friends.

Starting promptly at 10 am, kids had the chance to run around the building gathering eggs and spending time with the family living at Rittenhouse. Divided off into age groups, all the children had a chance at getting eggs and had a blast in the process.

Not only did the children have fun collecting eggs, but the seniors living at Rittenhouse enjoyed seeing the children , welcoming them into their home for a fun morning of Easter egg hunting.

Heather Schlegelmilch, in charge of marking and admissions at Rittenhouse, plans all the events for Rittenhouse. She expressed how excited the staff and residents were to be hosting a Easter egg hunt this year.

“It’s nice because the seniors like to participate and see the kids come find all the eggs. It’s great to get the awareness of Rittenhouse out in the community, bringing the kids in, and also letting the seniors enjoy watching the kids look for eggs.” said Schlegelmilch.

After an exciting hunt, there were refreshments and the Easter Bunny made an appearance. The kids, for the most part, were eager to get a picture with him and give him a hug.

“We love to do fun things like this throughout the year. We do trick-or-treating, a Santa visit, and the Easter Bunny this year. We are happy to be able to do these events,” said Schlegelmilch.

The yard of Rittenhouse Senior Living of Valparaiso was full of kids excited to see the Easter Bunny and residents enjoyed watching the kids scurry around to find as many eggs as they could. The staff and residents of Rittenhouse were happy to be able to host this event and look forward to their all of their fun events throughout the year.
