Rotary Club of Valparaiso dedicated their new pavilion at the Hilltop Food Pantry! The Valparaiso Rotary Club along with a grant from the Rotary District and Hilltop all chipped in to build this beautiful and much needed addition to the Healthy Kids, Healthy Choices Food Programs at Hilltop! The Hilltop Food Pantry and Walt’s Place feed over 600 individuals a month and another 30,000 healthy meals and snacks are served at Walt’s and Hilltop to children.
This pantry pavilion will shelter all the neighborhood children when they eat during the free summer lunch program with Valparaiso Community Schools and house the food pantry community market for free fresh produce and vegetables, donated year-round. It will also serve as a neighborhood gathering place for the children and their families living in the Hilltop neighborhood!
