Run Into Fall 10K Race Helps Area Food Bank

thtiming_reg_logoWhile most people are looking forward to the lazy days of summer, race organizers at Immanuel are preparing for the first day of fall.

On September 29th, Immanuel will hold their first annual Run Into Fall 10K race and 1 mile kids fun run. The race will take place through the streets of Valparaiso.

“The race is a great distance for all the runners who trained for the Popcorn Panic, as well as for those preparing for the Chicago marathon,” said Leo Fry, race course designer.

All proceeds from the race will benefit the Immanuel food pantry. The food pantry is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. They have been supplying food to the residents of Washington and Center Township for over 25 years. In 2011, they gave away 54.3 tons of food to over 6,000 area families in need.

Discounted registration is available until September 15th. All preregistered runners will receive a long sleeved technical shirt.

Trophies for the event are designed by accomplished artist, Bill Pozzo. Mr. Pozzo has fabricated custom exhibits for clients which include the John G. Shedd Aquarium, Chicago Children’s Museum and Kenosha Public Museum.

Online registration for the event is now open at www.thtiming.com. For more information on the race visit, www.immanuelvalpo.org or contact Nicole Rossmann at nicolerossmann@me.com.
