Former VHS student Jeff Samardzija will rejoin the Cubs’ starting rotation on Wednesday, filling in for Ted Lilly, who has been battling shoulder tendinitis.
Samardzija’s second Major League start will come against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park in Milwaukee. The game will begin at 7:05 CT and will be broadcast on Comcast Sports Net.
Samardzija is looking to improve after his first start on August 12th where he went 3 1/3 innings, giving up 7 runs on 8 hits. The 2006 draft pick had a great year last season, but has struggled in the majors this year.
