Sand Creek Country Club was recently named to the prestigious “Best Of” list for Residential Courses in Golfweek. The accomplishment makes the course the only one in Indiana and Illinois to achieve this feat in 2016.
Sand Creek’s golf course, designed by the renowned Chicago duo of Ken Killian and Richard Nugent, was also the only course on the list to feature both a creek and marsh-lined nine holes; a rarity for a list designed to honor top courses inside a residential neighborhood.
At 7,200 yards in length, Sand Creek Country Club’s golf course has long been noted for its three unique styles of courses (creek, lake, marsh), each designed to challenge different approaches and styles to attacking the course, and each course’s close-to-par course rating and playable slope rating mirror the philosophy in which they were designed.
The distinguishment comes on the heels of the club’s announcement of their Junior Golf membership initiative, designed to offer young professionals under the age of 39 the opportunity to play and network on one of Indiana’s top-ranked courses at a rate tailored for them.
