September is Opportunity Enterprises Month at Industrial Revolution

oe_logoEvery week during the month of September, $1 will be donated to OE for every pot roast dish purchased by customers telling their server they are supporting OE. For hours, pricing, and menu, visit www.industrialrevolutioneatery.com or call 465-1801.

"We are proud of our partnership this month with OE," said Mike Leeson, sole owner of Industrial Revolution Eatery & Grille. "OE's JobSource program does so much for veterans. Our goal at Industrial Revolution is to 'Salute America's Greatness,' and we are happy to partner with another Valparaiso organization that has the same goal."

Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the veteran program of JobSource, OE’s community employment program.

The JobSource program at Opportunity Enterprises opens doors to careers for people with disabilities, working to find employment that fits with the vocational goals and aspirations of each individual. For more than 20 years, JobSource has been helping people with disabilities find, prepare for, and keep rewarding and fulfilling employment.

In addition to serving clients who have developmental disabilities or have become disabled through injury or illness, JobSource also provides services to disabled veterans, and shares space with Veterans Affairs in its Valparaiso office. Through its veteran program, JobSource provides community employment and retention services, assistive technology, instruction and tutoring services, dietary assessment training by a licensed dietician, and nurses who perform independent living assessments.

JobSource also works with disabled veterans to obtain adaptive equipment and train clients on its use. The Porter County JobSource office in Valparaiso houses a Veterans Center for Adaptive Equipment, which includes a variety of adaptive products to assist disabled veterans with many aspects of their daily lives, increasing their self-sufficiency and independence. A wide variety of products are on display at the center.
