Server at Industrial Revolution in Valparaiso Wins State Award

ir-server-rose-awardA server at Industrial Revolution Eatery & Grille in Valparaiso was one of 18 people from across the state chosen to receive a Hoosier Hospitality Award. Dani Landgrebe received her award in a ceremony Wednesday (May 8) at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis. The Hoosier Hospitality awards recognize exceptional service by front-line employees in tourism-related jobs at hotels, restaurants, attractions and other destinations.

The awards were presented by Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann in conjunction with Mark Newman, executive director of the Indiana Office of Tourism Development. Landgrebe was nominated for the Hoosier Hospitality Award by Indiana Dunes Tourism, which selected her to receive a Porter County Recognition of Service Excellence (R.O.S.E.) Award.

In nominating Landgrebe for the Hoosier Hospitality Award, Indiana Dunes Tourism Promotion Director Ken Kosky wrote, “Each year, Indiana Dunes Tourism asks visitors and locals alike to tell us about those individuals who go above and beyond to make someone's meal, hotel stay, visit to an attraction or shopping experience a great one. In all the years we have done this, we have never received as many nominations for a single person as we did this past year for Dani Landgrebe of Industrial Revolution Eatery & Grille. Dani was described by many as super friendly, cheerful, attentive, energetic, offering great input about the menu, nice, going to extra mile, awesome, great and excited.”

Kosky said he was pleased that the lieutenant governor and state tourism officials chose Landgrebe.

“Dani embodies Hoosier Hospitality,” Kosky said.

“The friendly, outstanding service not only makes people want to return to Industrial Revolution, but it also gives them a positive impression of Porter County as well. It is people like Dani that encourage visitors to return time and time again to Indiana Dunes Country and the great communities within it.”
