SERVPROTech

SERVPRO of Porter County specialises in protecting and treating homes against the threats of damage from outside elements and repairing the damage done by water, fire and mold.

While these services are often critical in saving and preserving a home, they are possible through both the skilled professionals at SERVPRO as well as the innovative technology they use in their job.

"We use technology on a day to day basis, all of our paperwork is done in the field electronically using ipads. We use speciality software and apps created by SERVPRO to log and monitor a job throughout the job process," says SERVPRO of Porter County Operations Manager Chad Ginther.

Through the use of software and apps, SERVPRO has the ability to have a constant and up to date system of information letting both customers and workers be fully informed on what is happening and what to expect as they continue to work.

"We have the capability of assigning our customers insurance professionals a customer login to view the scope of work throughout the job process," says Ginther. "All of our employees go through an extensive training and certification process in order to use our tools and software in the field."

Along with digital and information technology, SERVPRO utilizes plenty of cutting edge tech in the field to ensure that homes are properly protected and damage is properly taken care of.

"We use a variety of technology in our day to day operations. A major part of our business is water damage mitigation work," says Ginther. "All water damages require extensive investigation, we often help to determine the source of the water loss, where the water has traveled, and provide a drying and mitigation plan to bring the home or business back to pre-loss condition."

This equipment is designed to quickly and efficiently assess and treat damage in order to both minimize and fix the damage to a home before it becomes permanent.

"We use penetrating and non-penetrating moisture meters to determine the moisture content of building materials. Thermal hygrometers are used to ensure we are controlling proper humidity throughout the drying process," says Ginther. "Depending on the situation-thermal imaging cameras are also brought in to aid in tracking the water migration and to determine affected materials. Specialty drying equipment is used throughout the drying process."

For Ginther and the staff at SERVPRO, they come prepared for a variety of situations, the elements can be unpredictable and bring unpredictable chaos to a home. Ginther and staff realize this and when combined with expertise and technology, are ready to combat whatever comes their way.
