Antiques-Collectibles-Show-2014Mental Health America presents “Treasures of the Past”—Antiques and Collectibles Show. MHA has been serving Porter County for over 50 years.

"We advocate for the right to appropriate, quality and affordable treatment to maintain mental wellness and for elimination of the stigma that surrounds mental illness and addictions through education, resource and support services. In 2013 over 2250 gifts made the holidays brighter for 585 individuals and families through giftLIFT program. Emergency medication assistance provided over $16,000 aid, giving 225 individuals—from 5-87 years old—the ability to remain compliant with treatment..Funds are needed to sustain these critical services and continue to meet the challenge of the changing needs of our community," states Mary Hodson, executive director.

On Saturday, March 1 from 9 - 4 and Sunday, March 2 from 10 - 4, the Porter County Expo Center will be transformed into a treasure trove of antiques and collectibles. For $4 (12 and under free) you can shop till you drop—rejuvenate with lunch from B&J concessions, Enjoy MHA's famous hand-dipped chocolate pretzels. 1 free appraisal with each full admission. Appraiser—Martin Papke, of Kathy's Antiques will be on site the entire weekend. Demonstrations and services include: crystal and porcelain repair, silver flatware pattern matching and identification, re-purpose jewelry and vintage quilting.

"With over 60 dealers, this is our largest show in the past 5 years! There is something for every age and taste. Through a recent partnership with Greg Engstrom, manager of La Porte County Antique Shows, we are working to build Porter County Antique and Collectibles fall and spring show as being unsurpassed in quality dealers," says Hodson.
