Often times in the news today, there is nothing but stories that highlight the negative aspects of life. The truly good news goes unnoticed, unreported, and sadly, the community is more often than not painted in a very poor light. Many don’t realize that there is so much good going on in their city, that the bad news is only a small percentage of real life. That is where our Life websites come in.
ValpoLife.com and PortageLife.com were founded solely to highlight all that is good in Porter County. We exist to tell the stories about people, places, businesses, and every aspect of life that are doing something to make the community a better place to live.
We are a community “hub” of information, highlighting good stories across all areas of life: Business, Sports, Health, Community, and Entertainment. We strive to be all-encompassing, sharing all of the good stories we can.
Because we are a small staff, we are often limited in telling all of the stories we’d like. That is where we call upon our community members to help us tell the stories. We rely upon those that will be connected to those stories, at those events, to be our “reporters” when we cannot be there.
We’re not asking for a novel or an in-depth review- merely a few notes about the story, a handful of photos (cell phone pictures are more than fine!) and our editors will work their magic to create an article. For aspiring authors, we welcome anything from a rough draft to a polished piece- a great resume or college application booster!
