Show School Spirit! Always Participate in Spirit Week!

This past week has been spirit week at the school where I am student teaching. I decided to be a good student teacher and show my full support for the school. Monday was sunglasses day, Tuesday was Sunday best, Wednesday was pajama day, today hat day, and tomorrow is school color pride! So how did I show my school spirit?

Monday was easy. I brought my sunglasses in from the car. It also helped that they are a greenish tint and not a black color so it wasnt too dark in the classroom. However, I was constantly taking them on and off and kept leaving them places and forgetting.

Tuesday was Sunday's best. I decided that I wanted to knock it out of the ball park. So I wore my tuxedo (minus jacket) from my sister's wedding two years ago. I was told from my students that I looked like James Bond, a butler, and several said a waitress (which I faked being appalled and corrected them repeatedly that I would be a "waiter").

Wednesday was pajama day. I decided that I didn't feel quite comfortable enough to where pajama pants in a school setting so I wore my school shoes, khaki pants, a blood donation shirt and then my old bath robe over it.

Thursday, or today was hat day. I had a lot of fun with this. I brought a dozen hats in. Every time the students would turn around, I was wearing a different hat. I had safari hat, sun visor, baseball caps, beach hat, and even a Santa hat. The kids got a kick out of my magical hat changing abilities.

Tomorrow is school colors day, so I will be wearing the corresponding colors to finish the week. It has been great fun and the students got to see me in several goofier manners than what they are use to.
