Children can beat the winter blues by playing soccer in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Valparaiso Club league. Registration is open from November 19, 2012 through December 7, 2012. The indoor soccer league focuses on skill development, sportsmanship and fun. Age divisions for the leagues are 5-7 years old, 8-9 years old and 10-12 years old. There are a limited number of available spots for each age division.
Beginning November 19, 2012, parents can register their children online at www.bgcpoco.org. Registration can also be completed at the Valparaiso Club, located at 354 W. Jefferson St., Valparaiso, IN. Registrations will be accepted Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Parents are encouraged to sign up early during the registration period as spaces for the leagues fill quickly.
League fees are $20.00 for the 5-7 year old division and $25.00 for the 8-9 and 10-12 year old divisions. All players receive a team t-shirt. All players must be Club members. Boys & Girls Club of Porter County offers affordable annual memberships. Membership fees are $35.00 per child. Financial assistance is available for membership and league fees for those who qualify.
The soccer league runs from the week of January 7, 2013 through March 16, 2013. Volunteer coaching opportunities are available.
