Tell us about Precision Printer Services.
Well, I started it myself. We manufacture compatible toner cartridges, service laser printers and sell equipment. We have great employees and we’re able to build a quality product here. The amount of inventory and same-day delivery throughout southwest Michigan helps us stand out. We’re a niche business.

What challenges did you have in starting this business?
You’re putting in long hours to give the customer what they want and you have to keep evolving. Was it difficult? Yes. Would we change it? No.

How did Horizon Bank help your business?
The real estate crisis, especially in Michigan, was our biggest challenge. That’s what actually got us to Horizon. Horizon, being a local bank, understood. Horizon’s been great. The two gentlemen I work with? I look at them more as advisors, not just people who give loans. I love the fact that decisions are made locally.
