South Shore CVA Unveils New Window Scene from the Classic Film “A CHRISTMAS STORY”

New-Christmas-Story-WindowIn honor of the 30th anniversary of the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority, as well as the 30th anniversary of the holiday classic “A Christmas Story,” a new window scene for the “A Christmas Story” Comes Home exhibit was unveiled.

The ‘A Christmas Story’ Comes Home exhibit has become a tradition for many families. This year, we wanted to add to the experience and offer visitors something new,” said Speros A. Batistatos, president and CEO of the South Shore CVA.

The new scene, which was developed in agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, was selected after surveying visitors. Social media fans and followers, as well as exhibit attendees, were able to offer their suggestions while the South Shore CVA planned which scene to develop.

We wanted visitors to have the opportunity to get involved with the selection process. There are many scenes throughout the movie that have become family favorites,” said Batistatos.

The window scene was officially unveiled to the public at the start of the exhibit on Saturday, Nov. 9. The “A Christmas Story” Comes Home exhibit will be at the Indiana Welcome Center through Sunday, Jan. 5.
