Melissa Westphal Benefiel (LNI 29) is serving as the Vice President at the South Shore Leadership Center focusing on Marketing & Development. Prior to her arrival on May 5, Melissa served as the Director of Development at Purdue North Central. She comes to the Center with over 10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and management.
Originally from Valparaiso, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer and went on to receive her Master’s degree from Purdue University in 2000.
Always active in the community, Melissa is currently serving on the Valparaiso Schools Foundation board and is about to complete her term as President of the Purdue North Central Women’s Association (PNCWA).
Melissa and her husband, Jeff, are the proud parents of a 9 year old daughter. In her free time, Melissa enjoys reading, hiking and cheering on her daughter’s soccer team
