South Shore Line expands Kids Ride Free Program for more affordable fun for the 2020 spring break staycation

Spring break is right around the corner and the South Shore Line (SSL) is expanding its Kids Ride Free program to include all trains March 21 – April 6, 2020. SSL has selected this promotional time frame to cover a large portion of scheduled spring breaks across the four-county area.

The Kids Ride Free Program allows up to 3 children 13 years of age and under to ride free with a paying adult on off-peak and weekend trains. However, in an effort to help families enjoy spring break, the program will be available on all trains during the promotion.

“Our goal is to make travel for spring break more affordable and to see more families taking advantage of this family-friendly offer. With so many exciting places, events, and attractions to explore along the SSL, spring break doesn’t have to mean traveling far away. Northwest Indiana, Chicago, and South Bend provide great opportunity for making family staycation memories,” said Nicole Barker, Director of Capital Investment and Implementation.

This spring break promotion is part of the SSL’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable and convenient transportation. To make your spring break planning easy, visit mysouthshoreline.com for a list of great spring break staycation adventures throughout South Bend, Northwest Indiana, and Chicago.
