The School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Northwest will host the first in a series of "Lunch and Learn" events on Thursday, March 25, in Library Conference Center Room 110, starting at 11:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Kim Ferraro, J.D., founder and executive director of the Legal Environmental Aid Foundation of Indiana, Inc. (LEAF).

LEAF is the only such organization in Indiana. Ferraro will discuss various cases the group has participated in, including cases involving toxic water pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and mismanaged flood planning.

Students, faculty and the public are invited to this event. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch to the presentation. Free dessert will be provided at the event.

Lunch and Learn is planned as an ongoing, informal lunch series dedicated to promoting the connection between policy analysis of current issues impacting Northwest Indiana and the practical application of knowledge. The program seeks to expand the awareness of stakeholders (citizens, local municipalities, business, students, and faculty) with respect to regional issues related to sustainable development.
